My cat has made several trips to the litterbox tonight after crying all evening. I went to check and see what was going on, and when I opened the litterbox, I saw little clumps everywhere. Lots of them. Usually I find one or two big clumps and lots of little poo pieces (sorry if it's TMI, but every bit of information is a clue right?). I scoop every night. Also noteworthy: she did not go at all yesterday.
She is resting now and hasn't been back in for a while and I'm hoping it will stay that way, but meanwhile, what could this possibly be? I will of course make a vet appointment if I find out that it has continued in the morning, but I am worried about her and want to know what I might expect to find out.
She is eating normally, doesn't seem overly thirsty, or otherwise behaving strangely. I tried googling but all the results I found pertained to cats NOT using the litterbox, as opposed to using it too much.

People, fellow pet-lovers,
I cannot stress the importance of a pet emergency fund!
Thank you,
the girl whose pet emergency fund is about to be depleted.
*note: my kitty is fine! My sister's dog, though, is going in for an emergency visit tomorrow. They are afraid he needs ear surgery (hopefully not!). She's a student, so her emergency fund is her older sister. I cannot say how good it feels to let my sister know that cost has nothing to do with Sherlock's treatment.

| Hello :] |
[12 Jul 2009|11:27pm] |
First off, thank you for accepting me! :] I don't own any rats yet,I hope to get two girls within the next year or two. But I have quite a bit of questions. Ready?
How bad can cigarette smoke aggravate rats? My bedroom is NEVER smoked in but the rest of my house is so naturally, my room reeks of it. =/ Will this be a big issue when I get ratties?
Would Arm & Hammer carpet cleaner for pets be harmful to ratties?
Probably a silly question, but I am really curious, does neutering actually get rid of the visible balls on rats?
What do you use specifically as bedding and as litter and where can I get litter pans or what can I use as one? And prices?
Can rats develope an allergy to fleas? A lot of the cats we have are outdoor cats, the only one I REALLY interact with I try and use flea medication on. And does any one know if those flea sprays for small animals really work?
Florida rats owners, what do you do to make sure your rats stay cool? My bedroom gets didally squat from the A\C, so it can get pretty hot sometimes.
How often do you guys do ratty laundry and what soaps do you use?
What is your favorite cleaning solution for cages? And how often do you deep clean the cages?
That's all the questions I have for the moment, sorry for asking so many. I just didn't want to forget them. ^^; I'll probably have more soon. Thank you all in advanced!

I got super frustrated with both my knitting and crocheting this weekend so I built and painted stuff instead. And also watched LOTR and Harrison Ford movies, but whatever.
First I repainted a cork board I have had for ages. I painted the edges teal but thought the cork itself was ugly so I stained it with teal, black and dark green paints diluted with water.
Then I built a memory board. I used the back of a kitchen drawer we had sitting in the garage. I then used a staple gun to staple some quilt matting to the board, then the fabric (which you have to make sure is taut. After we dealt with that we had to figure out how to put the ribbon on. Most of my ribbon was too short to do the whole board so I used two different kinds: brown with burgundy polka dots and white with gold fleur de lis on them. It turned out perfect for my 8x10 and 5x7s.
Sorry you have to go to another site to view the pictures. Lj's photo system makes me sad.

I was looking for reccomendations for good starting books or even websites for scrapbooking.
I've got lots of scrapbooking stuff, but I've only played around making a few cards or pictures I've still yet to make my first scrapbook. Well today I went crazy at Michaels buying stickers because I want to make my boyfriend a scrapbook for our one year anniversary.
I've got plenty of ideas and I love crafting but this is a really special project and since I don't know much about techniques for making it look nicer I thought I'd ask those with more scrapbooking experience. Its not for 3 months so I have plenty of time but I want it to look really nice.

So does anyone remember picture day, when the teachers would hand you little mini black combs to fix your hair with. Yeah, the ones that are 3 or 4 inches?
I currently have 1000 of them.
What in the world can I do? I cant think of ANYTHING for the life of me.
Edit: my friend worked for one of those companies, Im a hair dresser so he figured I could use them.....yes....1000....ONLY reason why I have them. I swear, it's not because im crazy.

Introducing Molly, my little brother's cat. She's about two years old.
( Molly Dolly )
She's definitely the most playful of all three cats. Not surprising since she is very young compared to the other two. She always enjoys wrestling with Lily, the second oldest. And sometimes gets put in her place by Apollo, the oldest. She is very lean and always is chasing something, mostly bugs. My mama is the one that calls her Molly Dolly.

| Big craft post! |
[12 Jul 2009|04:05pm] |
I have been a member for a very long time, lurked for even longer, and posted here only twice before. I have been such a stranger to LJ lately, though, as I mainly just reserve any posts to my tumblr blog, but I thought you might enjoy some of my work anyway.
I have been participating in a personally-challenged "craft month," where I have entreated myself to make a new craft every day (not a difficult task for many of you, I know). I tried this once before, but it was hard to keep up during school because my room is so small. Now I just keep my things strewn about my room and pick up a project when the inspiration strikes me (a very nice, if not impractical, way to live! I will miss it). Anyway, I have been pretty lax about snapping the photographs, but I feel productive about the work I've done. Here's a big post of the wares I've captured so far. If you like what you see, I will remember to post the rest for you great crafters to see once I get the right light to take photographs.
( Button clusters, a felt panda, a vintage-inspired fascinator, and miscellaneous jewelry this way! )
